CodedOK
Built for UK & Irish coded skippers

One record.
Three codes.
UK and Ireland.

Inspection-readiness for UK and Irish small commercial vessel operators. Track every certificate, piece of equipment and crew qualification — and bring your surveyor into the same record.

The moat · Ireland

The only tool that tracks Irish PBL alongside UK MCA.

Cross-border operators carry two rulebooks — the MCA Sport & Pleasure Vessel Code in the UK, and the Marine Survey Office Passenger Boat Licence (Classes P1–P6) in Ireland. UK coding does not satisfy Irish PBL. CodedOK keeps both lines of evidence in one record per vessel.

P1 Open inland P2 Inland 1–2 mile P3 Smooth water P4 Sheltered water P5 Partial coast P6 Sea-going
Why this matters

A missing pyro card grounds the boat.
The clock catches you out either way.

An expired flare grounds the boat

A £40 oversight on a SOLAS pyro pack cancels a £1,500 charter trip. Every passenger refund and every hour off the water comes back to a checklist you didn't run.

Renewals stack at the worst times

Coding cert, PLI, liferaft service, EPIRB, radio licence, ENG1, first aid, VHF SRC. Fifteen clocks all running at different speeds. A spreadsheet doesn't catch them. CodedOK does.

December 2025 raises the bar

The new MCA Sport & Pleasure Vessel Code 2025 lands in December. New stability evidence, new SMS requirements, new owner declarations. The transition year is when surveyors flag the most issues.

How it works

Three steps to survey-ready.

Add a vessel, photograph the certs, you're running a compliant fleet from your phone.

01

Add your vessel

Name, length, category, where she operates. CodedOK pre-loads every certificate and piece of equipment you're required to carry — so you start with the right tray, not a blank sheet.

02

Photograph your certs

Snap each cert with your phone. AI reads the issuer, certificate number and expiry. PLI, coding cert, radio licence, the lot — no retyping. Drop in PDFs the same way.

03

Walk in survey-ready

Compliance score on your home screen. Nudges 30, 7, and 0 days before anything expires. Inspection-pack PDF in one tap. Your surveyor sees the same record you do.

Features

Everything a coded-vessel records team needs. No more, no less.

Certificate tracker

Every cert, every renewal date, colour-coded against the active code. Coding cert, radio licence, PLI, pyrotechnics — visible at a glance.

Equipment log

Liferafts, EPIRBs, lifejackets, fire kit. Logged with make, serial, last service and next service date.

AI document scan

Photograph a paper cert or drop in a PDF. The issuer, certificate number and dates are extracted automatically — no retyping.

SMS builder

AI-assisted Safety Management System drafted for your vessel and operation. Review, edit, export as a survey-ready PDF.

Push & email reminders

30, 7 and 0 days before every expiry. Push to the installed app, email as a fallback. Crew get their own personal reminders.

Inspection-pack PDF

One tap, one PDF, every cert + equipment item + crew qualification. Walk into your survey with everything in one document.

Crew & team

Invite crew by email. Each person gets their own login and their own quals. Granular permissions per role.

Works offline

Installable as a PWA. Edits queue locally and sync the moment you're back in coverage. No data lost in a tunnel or 20 miles offshore.

Your record. Your surveyor's record. Same record.

One source of truth between operator and surveyor — no PDF emails, no version mismatches, no chasing the latest draft.

Survey day

Records ready before the surveyor steps aboard.

Every certificate, equipment item and crew qualification in one tap. The surveyor sees the same record you do, signs off in the app, and the inspection-pack PDF lands in your inbox.

Questions skippers actually ask

Before you sign up.

Does CodedOK actually cover Irish PBL?
Yes. The full Marine Survey Office Passenger Boat Licence — Classes P1 through P6 — is loaded as a jurisdiction option per vessel. When you pick "Ireland — PBL" on a vessel, the relevant equipment, manning, and survey requirements load alongside (or instead of) the UK MCA set, depending on where the vessel actually operates.
What changes when the MCA SPV Code 2025 comes in?
The Sport & Pleasure Vessel Code 2025 replaces the old MGN 280 framework on 1 December 2025. Headline shifts: a single-route stability declaration for under-15m vessels, a mandatory Safety Management System for charter operations, refreshed equipment carriage tables, and clearer owner-declaration requirements. CodedOK rolls the new schedule out automatically on the date — your existing vessels show what's already aligned and what needs new evidence.
What counts as "evidence" in CodedOK?
A dated photograph or PDF of a certificate, equipment serial / service receipt, crew qualification card, signed inspection report, or surveyor-issued document — attached to the relevant record. Evidence has a source, a date, and ideally an expiry. CodedOK timestamps when you uploaded each piece and keeps the original file alongside the extracted fields.
Is CodedOK affiliated with the MCA or YDSA?
No. CodedOK is an independent recordkeeping aid. The SPV Code 2025, Workboat Code Edition 3, MGN 280, and YDSA category schedules are published by their respective authorities; CodedOK is not endorsed by or affiliated with any of them.
Does it replace my MCA or PBL survey?
No. CodedOK helps you stay inspection-ready between surveys and hand a clean record to your surveyor on the day. The survey itself, and the certification or licence that comes out of it, still happen with your recognised surveyor or the Marine Survey Office.
How does the surveyor handoff work?
Your surveyor gets a free seat per vessel you invite them to. They see your full record — certs, equipment, crew quals, deficiencies, prior inspections — from their own login. On survey day they raise deficiencies, sign the inspection in the app, and the signed pack lands in your inbox. No PDF email chase, no version mismatches.
Does it work offshore with no signal?
Yes. Installed as a PWA on your phone, the app works fully offline. Edits queue locally and sync to the cloud when you're back in coverage. No data lost in a tunnel or 20 miles offshore.
Can my deckhand or mate access the app?
Yes. Crew members get their own login, can view the vessels they're assigned to, and manage their own personal qualifications (ENG1, STCW, licences). Permissions are set per person by the owner.
What happens to my data?
Evidence is stored in Supabase (EU region) and cached on your device. You can delete your account from Account → Sign out and email privacy@codedok.com — full erasure within 30 days. Active subscriptions can export as a PDF archive at any time.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Pro and Team are monthly with no contract — cancel from Account and you'll keep access until the end of the billing month. Your evidence stays exportable as PDF for 90 days after cancellation, then is purged on request.
When does payment start?
Not yet. We're in early access — pick a plan today and you won't be charged until we email you to opt in. Solo stays free either way.

Terms of Service

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Replace this text with vetted terms before going live with paying customers.

Using CodedOK

CodedOK is a compliance-tracking tool for UK and Irish coded vessel operators. You're responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter, and ultimately for your vessel's compliance with the MCA Sport or Pleasure Vessel Code 2025 and Workboat Code Edition 3. CodedOK is a recordkeeping aid — it does not certify or replace inspections by a recognised surveyor.

Your account

You agree to keep your sign-in credentials confidential and to notify us if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users.

Payment and trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial of the full feature set. Paid plans are not yet available; this section will be updated before charging starts. You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen — your data is removed within 30 days.

Liability

CodedOK is provided on an "as is" basis. We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we don't guarantee uptime, freedom from bugs, or that the app catches every compliance issue. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees you've paid us in the preceding 12 months.

Changes

We'll notify you in the app before any material change to these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
